The band was formed back in 2005 by Angelo Diablo Xenopoulos, the only member that remains consistantly until today in the line up. Band's intention was just to experiment with rock music and they did not have even a name. Their music was a hard n' heavy metal-rock style with a lot of groove and improvisations which sounded pretty close to the so-called stoner rock style (without being exactly that). This project lasted only one year. Later, during 2006-2007, the founder member Angelo tried to find new musicians but he did not succeed, so the band did not continue.
After a long break, in 2010, the band was reformed by Angelo Diablo with the name H.A.D. and with a new line-up, in order to revive the 2005's attempt and return to their original groovy heavy rock/metal music in a modern way, though. H.A.D. gave a live gig show on February 2nd 2011 as a supporting act.
In 2011 the line-up had been changed again and the band renamed to its today's name “Rust 'n' Mud” in 2012. Rust 'n' Mud gave a gig show on July 2nd 2012 holding the headliner position. They changed their name to "Rust 'n' Mud" few days before that show.
The line-up changes and the breaks continued on and on due to several obligations of the members. In November 2014 they released their first promo song called "Devil's Eyes" which is an old composition from the 2005-2006 era although it sounds very fresh in 2015. This released attracted attention of the Underground Greek and World Rock and Metal scene and it is played on air of several web radio (including U.S.A.).
Their music style is technical mid-tempo groovy rock-metal with a heavy rhythm section which they rather call “Blues Beer Metal”.
